Victoria's Vintage Tea Rooms is the most northerly tea room in Britain, situated in Haroldswick at the northern end of the island of Unst. Historically the building has always been at the heart of the Haroldswick community as it used to be home to the village shop.
Today, Victoria Mouat has brought a buzz back to the old shop and the community too! Her quirky vintage tea room has a small farm shop, stocked with homemade and seasonal produce, made in their own kitchen or fresh from their own croft. There is also a small but excellent selection of giftware sourced from small independent UK businesses.
The café's simple but unique menu consists of freshly made soups using seasonal vegetables; many locally grown on the island. Their scones are made fresh every day to Victoria's very own recipe, our personal favourite is the savoury cream tea - a good sized Orkney cheese scone with Orkney cheese one the side, homemade chutney, sliced apple all served with a fresh side salad.
Gluten free and vegan options are available. The Tearooms use only the best local ingredients, from Shetland milk to lamb from their own croft. Bread is delivered fresh from the nearby Skibhoul bakery. There is an extensive range of top quality teas, as well as specially selected Italian coffee.
Last, but certainly not least, Victoria's range of delicious homemade cakes and bakes will have you pondering over how many calories you managed to burn on that walk to Hermaness, and just how much cake is too much cake? There is always a good selection of vegan and gluten-free options.
The tea room has a lovely friendly, relaxed atmosphere, with stunning sea views. Indoor and outdoor seating available, full disabled access and free wifi.
