Masala Puri
Ingredients
- 3 tbsp oil
- 1/2 tsp jeera
- 1 finely chopped onion
- 2 pinches turmeric powder
- 2 tsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 can tomato puree
- 1/2 tsp chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp dhania powder
- 1/2 tsp jeera powder
- 2 cans mushy peas
- Shetland sea salt
- Garam masala
- Tomato
- Cucumber
- Roasted peanuts
- Fresh coriander
- Sev
- Grated carrots
- Rice crackers or crisps
Method
- Heat oil in a pan and add the jeera and onion and saute for 5 minutes.
- Add the turmeric for fresh colour and the ginger garlic paste. Saute for 5 minutes until they are cooked with a good flavour.
- Add the tomato paste, chilli powder, dhania powder and remaining jeera powder and cook for 7-10 minutes.
- Once it's cooked with a good aroma, add garam masala and cook for two more minutes. Cover.
- To serve, garnish with more finely chopped onion, tomato, cucumber, peanuts, coriander, sev and grated carrot.
- For better taste, add rice crackers or crisps.
