International Kitchen - Anneke's Nieuwjaarsrolletjes
Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 250g caster sugar
- pinch of salt
- 125g butter, melted
- 250g plain flour
- 250ml water
Method
- Mix the egg with the sugar, salt and the melted butter. Add the flour, and finally the water.
- Let it rest for an hour at room temperature. Heat the iron, put a little butter on it and put a tablespoon of batter on the iron.
- Close the iron and bake for 1 or 2 minutes. Remove with a spatula and cool on a rack. While still warm, wrap around the handle of a wooden spoon. Leave them to cool down.
- When cool, you can fill them at both sides with whipped cream just before you eat them.
